12V output photocell controlled track power tap. Automatically turns on at dusk, off at dawn. For building lighting. Uses track power (14 - 28V), mounts under track in place of a tie. Very compact design because it uses rails as a heat sink. Uses tie mounting screws as both power pickup and mounting points. Capable of providing over 2A of 12V DC lamp power (50 40ma light bulbs).
Ideal for providing photocell controlled lamp power to remote locations on DC constant track power railroads (stations, towers, houses, etc.). Built in current limiting and voltage regulation. There is also a version for those people using AC track power (16 - 28 VAC) but it costs a bit more due to the additional components required.
Everyone loves lighted structures and accessories, with our photocell controlled tap you can run your railroad 24 hours a day and only burn your lamps during the hours of darkness. Doubles bulb life compared to running them all the time.
Draws less than 3ma when in daylight mode due to advanced NMOS photocell controlled switch. Waterproof, encased in epoxy.
Supplied with 24 inch power cable and 12 inch photocell cable. The CDS cell is available either prewired to the cable or loose to allow you to mount it on the roof of a building with minimal drilling.
