Options for individual batteries

Connectors

Optional JST connector and installed pigtail. May be used as replacement pack for TrainUPS or for additional power.  The battery in our product photo shows this connector installed

Fusing

For batteries to be used as engine power you have the option of either 2.5A, 5A or 7.5A over current protection. Our over current protection automatically resets once the overload is cleared. 2.5A is fine for smaller engines (2 motor diesels, RDC, Railbuses, etc.). 5A is suggested for larger units and we recommend 7.5A for 4 motor units like the Aristo SD45.

Volume discount

There is a volume discount for purchases of 4 batteries or more.  This does not apply to the kit options.

If the TrainUPS option is selected you get our innovative TrainUPS kit at a bargain price. See the TrainUPS page for full details on what is included.  TrainUPS allows you to charge your battery from the track and run over unpowered or dirty track sections.

Pure Battery conversion

If you want to convert a locomotive to pure battery operation with an external charger, we offer a battery conversion kit with  smart charger (70 minutes charging time). This kit comes complete with the battery, the external charger, a charge/run switch, hookup wire and instructions. You mount the battery, switch and jacks in the locomotive and just throw the switch and plug in the charger to re-charge the battery. No need to remove the battery to charge. The charger has both voltage and thermal sensors to ensure that it never over charges a battery, it may be left plugged in for an indefinite period of time and will trickle charge.  This kit is designed for users who use any form of radio control.
