Factory Direct video in an Aristo Classic Caboose

Our Digital Video unit installed in a brand new Aristo classic Caboose. This is a brand new caboose from Aristo with a DVRACLV installed by IPTrains under our factory direct program.

View your trains on your computer from the caboose in any Java or ActiveX capable browser or in the included software (Windows only). Save and share AVI or WMV format movies. See your railroad as the crew sees it. Allows real time viewing of your railroad from the Internet.

The Aristo classic caboose is an excellent choice to mount on board video in, its large windows give an outstanding view both front and rear. We also add in interior battery backed up lighting and battery protect the red marker lamps. If you choose a roof mounted strobe it will be on the front right, if you elect a FRED instead it will be mounted in the rear platform.

See it on YouTube Or see it Live!

The unit has three power options, external charger only, track power charging only and track power and external charger. The track power charging options will run in any unit with track power pickups and charges off any track power from 14 to 28 volts (fixed DC, variable DC, DCC or even AC) and off the included battery when track power is not present to ensure reliable video operations. Trainvision may also be run on un-powered track, run time on un-powered track is better than 3 hours.

The track power versions of the DVRACLV are fully compatible with DCC and include a cutoff switch switch to support DCC programing operations.

We install the single camera version with the camera in the cupola on the fireman's side, facing front (so as to not have the stack block the view). If your order the optional second camera we install it facing to the rear in the cupola on the engineer's side.

This is a special order product, it may take us up to 3 weeks to ship it to you depending on how long it takes Aristo to get us the caboose. We can normally turn these around and get them out to you within 48 hours once we get the caboose in from Aristo. If your choice of roadname is not available we will contact you to allow you to cancel or make an alternate selection. If you elect to pay by credit card we will not charge your card until Aristo ships us the unit.

Options

Cameras

If you want to add a second camera (the web server supports two) then see the additional camera option, it includes everything you need to add a second camera, more cheaply than purchasing the components individually. Optional second camera faces to the rear.

Power and charging

There are three options. External charger only, track charging only and external charger + track charging. External charger options include a smart charger that plugs into the unit and will fully charge the battery in 70 minutes. There is no need to remove the battery to charge with any of the charging options.

LED

The power indicator LED (shows when track power is available) comes in two flavors, a blue 'strobe' LED which looks great on the top of caboose roof or a red flashing LED which we install as a FRED. The LED option is only applicable when one of the track charging options is selected.

Installation

This unit is factory installed and tested. We will also do all configuration for you.

Outdoor Access Point

Trainvision will work with any standard 802.11b/g AP but for best results we recommend either our Nano2 or our Loco2. You can get a deal on either of them with the outdoor AP option. For help selecting the correct AP for your railroad please see this link.

Coolness

Coolness is not optional, it is part of the basic package. Be the first kid on your block to have an Internet web server rolling around your railroad, the bragging rights alone are worth the price of admission...

Don't see your choice of roadname? Contact us and we'll be happy to check and see if it's available.

Only want one camera but want if facing to the rear? No problem, just tell us that in special instructions and we'll do it!
