Very simple magnetic reed switch based product, bolts on to standard turnouts and provides either SPST, SPDT or DPDT switching capability. Totally waterproof, encased in brass and encapsulated in resin and epoxy. Includes magnet and mounting bolts.

May be mount above or below the ties on a standard turnout and on the curved or the straight side. Capable of switching and carrying 250ma, for signal control not for frog power switching.

If you are using the sensor to control a single IPTrains APC signal head then use the SPST version of the sensor since the green aspect is grounded and you only need to ground the red or the yellow aspect with the sensor, the green stays grounded. If you are controlling multiple opposing heads (one is green, the other is red, they reverse when the turnout is operated) use the SPDT version.

Since the magnetic switch position sensor is a sealed and waterproof unit it will never arc or corrode in moist conditions as conventional switch contacts often do. Since it is magnetic it will not impede the operation of your switch machine and cause it to hang up. It is also the simplest way to add signal control functionality to manual or pneumatic switch machines. See the diagram below for example hookup to one of our signals, much more complex circuits are possible.

Comes with six inch kynar 2, 3 or 6 wire 30 gauge pigtail, a 3' pre-wired 24ga cable is available as an option.

Red mux diodes are available as an option for those using the SPDT version in conjunction with our single block detectors. You do not need mux diodes with our multiblock controller, they are built in. See see this link for more on this subject.
